WHO IS THIS QUALIFICATION FOR:
This Qualification is for those who want to gain a viable entry route into employment in the Electrotechnical Industry as an Electrician or Engineer. This qualification provides an understanding of:
Fundamental Principles of Environmental Technologies,
Principles of Electrical Science
Fault Diagnosis and Rectification, Inspection
Testing and Commissioning and Electrical System Design.
Progression to become a fully qualified JIB recognised ‘Approved Electrician’ your pathway starts with C&G2365 level 2 and level 3 then when you are employed in the Electrotechnical Industry you can go onto completion of the formal the NVQ pathway to achieve the required JIB grading and Gold card subject to also achieving the NET AM2 Electrical Competence End Point Exam.
It is also recommended that candidates undertake the IET Wiring Regulations C&G2382-18 to make sure you are up to date with installation requirements.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
You should have a reasonable understanding of Maths ideally to GCSE level.
It is not required to be working in the Electrical Industry to undertake this qualification although it is always good to practice what you learn at level 2 and level 3.
As this qualification is seen as a progression pathway towards the Electrical NVQ you should seek employment in the industry as you gain the qualifications to progress further and undertake the JIB grading requirements of the C&G2357 NVQ
How will I be assessed?
You will undertake a series of units depending on the level undertaken:
C&G2365-02 Level 2Electrotechnical Diploma
201 Health and Safety Practical Assessment & online Multiple Choice exam
202 Principles of Electrical Science online Multiple Choice exam
204 Installation of Wiring Systems and Enclosures practical assessment
210 Understand how to communicate online Multiple Choice exam
you will on successful completion be able to progress onto the level 3 2365 course if you want to join
How will I learn?

ON-LINE LEARNING PORTALwith a number of advantages.
You will not have to take time off work
You study and learn at a time and pace to suit you
You do NOT have to wait until a course is available (we teach 365 days a year)
You will NOT be in a large class
You will NOT need to wait for others to catch up
You will NOT be restricted to college times or take two years to complete
The exams and practical assessments will be undertaken at one of our centres under the control of a qualified assessor and invigilator to City & Guilds and JCQ requirements.
How long will the course take?
There is no fixed time as it depends on your prior knowledge and experience and how much time you are willing to give to the course. As a guide the if you dedicate a reasonable amount of time each week you should be able to complete level 2 and level 3 within approximately 14 months but you may take less time depending on your knowledge and experience or longer. The control is all yours but we are here to guide you through to completion at every stage.
What will I need on the course?
For the on line learning of required modules all you will need is a computer or phone with access to the internet
Practical Assessments completed at one of our centres you will need basic PPE (Steel toe capped boots or shoes, overalls or T shirt and work trousers and high viz jacket)
If you have partly completed modules at another centre we can help you achieve the full qualification. (Please ask for advice and guidance)
