C&G2357-91 NVQ from T levels 8202
- System Administrator |
C&G2357-91 NVQ unit route:
This is a unit NVQ pathway dependent on what courses and knowledge units you have already achieved will determine exactly what units you need to complete and we will complete a skill scan to ensure the necessary units are identified for you prior to undertaking the course.
This NVQ course offers a progression route using the knowledge units from the new T level qualifications such as the C&G8202 allowing you to only undertake the missing units which are usually two units of the theory and all of the on-site portfolio evidence.
Allowing you to gain the necessary unit pathway to gain the completion to enable you to gain the JIB Gold card on completion of the AM2.
JIB Apprentice and ECS Cards:
We are a registered training organization that can provide ECS card exams through the JIB only for those registered with us.
What is the AM2:
The AM2 is an EPA endpoint assessment undertaken at your local NET centre which is independent of your training provider and not included in the course costs.
We will make available the preparation part of this unit to show what is included in the EPA to help you prepare, but you should also consider undertaking the NET preparation day to give you first-hand knowledge of what it entails.
Who’s it for?
The AM2 should be taken by electrotechnical apprentices who are training against the Apprenticeship Framework, those undertaking the JIB Mature Candidate Assessment, and those following the Level 3 NVQ who are not apprentices.
Apprentices who are enrolled in the Apprenticeship Standard should undertake the AM2S assessment.
What do I have to do?
The AM2 Assessment is broken down into the sections below. During some of the practical sections, you’ll be watched by the assessor. This can seem intimidating, so try to practice beforehand with a colleague watching you get used to it.
We’ve shown the length of time allocated to complete each section but you’ll be given additional time to read the instructions and prepare before starting the test.
This is just an overview, so if you are close to taking your AM2 Assessment and want more detail, select a heading below for a step-by-step guide to each section.
Preparation
The best way to prepare for the AM2 is to use the resources available on the NET website:
- Download the Readiness for Assessment Checklist which details everything you’ll need to do and ensure you’re confident in each area before you take the assessment.
- Download our Pre-Assessment Manual for more help on how to prepare.
- Watch our Top Tips Videos for hints and advice on each section of the assessment
A note about AM2 Prep Courses: NET and its licensed centres do not support, endorse or recommend any AM2 or AM2S prep courses. Providing you have been able to complete your Checklist with confidence that you have the skills and knowledge needed for each area of the assessment, the resources provided above will be sufficient for you to prepare.

ECS Cards - prove your skills and qualifications!

At the end of your apprenticeship, you'll have hard-earned skills and qualifications, so you should show them proudly to the world! Being able to prove what you've trained for is extremely important.
The ECS card shows your identity, occupation, and the qualifications you have worked for. It also allows you to access construction sites to gain your work experience. If your training provider has registered your apprenticeship with the JIB, you should receive your first white ECS apprentice card - it's the first step in your ECS journey.
As you progress through your apprenticeship you get a card at each stage to show what level you're at in your training.
Once you've completed your apprenticeship you can apply for your ECS Gold Card - the gold standard for the industry. If you hold the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification you can gain a standard ECS gold card, you can then upgrade to Registered Electrician status once you have the 18th Edition.
