C&G2357-44 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment 

 

 

WHO IS THIS QUALIFICATION FOR:

 

This Qualification is for progression from having completed the Electro-technical certification at Level 2 and Level 3 C&G2365 or an additional route from the C&G2330 previous qualification is available C&G2357-34.

If you are unsure ask for further guidance.

This will lead to the completion of the formal NVQ pathway to achieve the required JIB grading and Gold card subject to also achieving the NET AM2 Electrical competence end point exam.

It is also recommended that candidates undertake the IET Wiring regulations C&G2382-18 to make sure you are up to date. 

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

This qualification is a progression pathway for the NVQ requirements and you will need to have achieved the Level 2 and Level 3 C&G2365 or equivalent Electrotechnical certificates in order to come onto this course.

(Copies will be required) You will also need to be working on an electrical installation or maintenance site able to cover the range of skills expected in the industry of cable and containment systems. (ask for guidance if unsure)

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED:

You will be assessed by recording in a portfolio of evidence work you produce through your normal working on site installing or maintaining equipment covering the range of skills expected of an Electrician to meet JIB and City & Guilds requirements. Evidence is gathered through Photographs, written description of work carried out, witness testimony confirming all work was completed by you and to the required professional BS7671 standards.

A small written bridging unit is also completed as part of the NVQ. A requirement of the JIB to complete your NVQ is to undertake the Electrical ‘‘Assessment of Occupational Competence’, called AM2 at a NET assessment centre which is not included in the costs of your NVQ although we will provide guidance on where and when to undertake the practical test towards the end of your NVQ.

WHAT WILL I NEED TO DO

The Evidence is all gathered on site except for the Bridging unit which will be undertaken with your assessor. Evidence is taken form your normal work activities and could include photographs, Method statements, Risk assessments, Test certificates, materials lists etc.

The units and evidence to cover the required criteria are:

• 311 Apply H&S legislation in your normal work activities

• 312 Apply Environmental Legislation

• 313 Overseeing and organising work

• 315 Planning and preparing and Installing wiring systems

• 316 Terminating and connecting cables and flexible cords

• 317 Inspecting and Testing, Commissioning and Certifying Electrical Installations

• 318 Diagnosing and correcting Electrical Faults

• 350 Bridging Unit between 2365 and 2357

399 Occupational Competence is taken separately at a NET AM2 centre and is not included in the costs below. 

HOW LONG WILL THE COURSE TAKE:

There is no fixed time as it depends on your prior knowledge and experience but as a guide the NVQ providing you work on suitable sites and can gather the evidence can take as little as 6 months but could take a lot longer if you do not cover the range of installations and equipment required. The control is all yours but we are here to guide you through to completion at every stage.

Your portfolio can be electronic or written, we will help you compile your portfolio and come on site to observe your working practices.

COST OF THE COURSE:

C&G2357-44 NVQ only cost is £1500 (payable on invoice following registration with us for your course or over 3 months.) Payment includes registration with City & Guilds, the Bridging unit, Portfolio and certification fees.

The NET AM2 is taken at a separate centre at an additional cost.
