BS7671 Amendment 2 updates:

As with the requirements of BS7671 and updates identified by C&G the questions in our notes and information will be upgraded to Amendment 2 requirements and you should ensure that Guidance note 3 Brown book version 2022 should be used for all exams and assessments undertaken after August 31st 2022.

Changes to BS7671 came into force from 28th March 2022 but exams continued on the Blue-book Amendment 1 until this time.

WHO IS THIS QUALIFICATION FOR?

C&G2391-52 combined course is suited to those with current practical experience of inspection and testing of low voltage electrical installations and requires to be certified in Inspection and testing.

This course uses the NEW Amendment 2 18th edition (Brown Book) which came out on the 28th March 2022, the course held over the Amendment 1 regulations for 6 months to allow those registered on the course to undertake the exams and assessments with the Bluebook but be aware the rules are changing and our course will in line with both industry and C&G requirements.

 

Electricians who want to progress their JIB grading to Approved Electrician status, the NICEIC Electrical Contractor status, or NAPIT’s Electrical Inspector Scheme.

Equally, it's suitable for those practicing Electricians who need to update their inspection and testing skills or Engineers entering the Electrical Industry. 

  

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

This qualification has no formal entry requirements, but it is recommended that you have a good working knowledge of Electrical Installations. It is also recommended that a suitable technical industry certificate such as the C&G2365 Diploma in Electrical Installations be completed, as a good starting point for those seeking a career as an Electrician.

 

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

  • The course is assessed by one multiple-choice exam, one short written exercise, and one practical assessment.
  • Our Inspection and Testing course covers the Domestic, Commercial, and Industrial sectors across a range of units as listed below.

 

  1. Understand requirements for inspection and testing of electrical installations
  2. Understand safety management procedures when undertaking inspection and testing of electrical installations
  3. Understand the requirements for the inspection of electrical installations
  4. Understand the requirements for testing electrical installations
  5. Perform inspection and testing of electrical installations

 

 

HOW WILL I LEARN?

You will learn through a series of units delivered via our online training portal with a number of advantages.

  • You will not have to take time off work (except for the theory and practical exams)
  • You Study and Learn at a time and pace to suit you do not have to wait until a course is available (we teach 365 days a year)
  • You will not be in a large class, we normally teach in groups of 2 to 4 and 1:1 for practical sessions.
  • The Practical assessment will have a practice session prior to undertaking the final assessment at our center (or your company if 4 or more candidates undertake the course) 

 

We also have the option to deliver the course with the theory through our online learning and practical training through attendance at our center for 3 days it costs a little more but if you are unsure at how to do the practical testing or do not have the experience this is a good option for you.

 


HOW LONG WILL THE COURSE TAKE?

There is no fixed time as it depends on your prior knowledge and experience but City & Guilds provide an estimated guide of 50 hrs learning hours - which includes theory well as applying understanding.

As the majority of time is theory you can progress as quickly as you are able.
